Business Forum - Festival Indonesia 2024
“Building an Economic Powerhouse: Leveraging Mutual Strengths in Digital Technology and Private Fund Sectors”
Indonesia and Australia, as neighboring countries, have shared deep-rooted historical relations dating back to ancient times. In the modern era, these ties have evolved into robust institutional frameworks, such as the Australia-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA). Despite the growth in trade, tourism, and investment relations, there remains substantial untapped potential in these areas.
Victoria, in particular, has seen growing cooperation with Indonesia, offering numerous opportunities for further exploration. Among these, the digital technology industry, including gaming, and the superannuation and private fund sectors stand out as key areas of mutual strength and opportunity. Advancing collaboration in these "economic of the future sectors" is crucial for the development of regional equality and establishing an economic powerhouse for both countries.
Moreover, there is a significant Indonesian community residing in Australia, which presents unique opportunities for fostering bilateral economic relations. Leveraging the potential of Indonesian nationals in Australia can contribute to Indonesia's economic growth and strengthen the Indonesia-Australia bilateral partnership, particularly in the hospitality and digital technology sectors.
