About the Outdoor Festival

The Outdoor Festival is the cultural centrepiece of Festival Indonesia — Melbourne’s largest annual celebration of Indonesian heritage. Set in the heart of Melbourne at Federation Square, the day brings together traditional and contemporary Indonesian arts, live music and dance performances, batik and craft workshops, and dozens of food stalls showcasing regional Indonesian cuisine.

Now in its 13th year, the festival fosters cultural exchange between Indonesian and Australian communities while showcasing Indonesia’s diverse regional traditions to a Melbourne-wide audience.
